ow to fish Puddingstone

 The lake is stocked with Trout in the winter and Catfish in the summer. There are also largemouth bass.

 When to fish  Puddingstone Lake:  Late February here, when the sun warms this 250 acre lake,  the fishing picks up...enjoy this time of year because not many water-skiers.The best spots are to fish around the  docks, and  underwater ledges, which rang from  15 to 50 feet deep depending on the time of year.  By the time May rolls around, forget it. 

 This lake can also get murky fast after a rain, and also best during the morning and evening before the skiers hit the lake. The DFG is generous with it s planted

  Fishing Report

Crappie catch is mostly around Boat Dock Cove. For best results, use jigs just as sun peeks itself into another day.

Bass are fairly active and most success is with plasti-baits, use darker shades

Catfish are taking mackerel and chicken liver.

How to fish Lake Wohlford 

Wohlford is located East of Escondido near San Diego.  The boat launch is  located on the north shore.  There are boat rentals, limited groceries and a campground is located . Kayaks, etc., inflatables, or a boat over 20 feet are prohibited. 

The lake is open daily from mid-December through one week after Labor Day in September.   Lake Wohlford is a low pressure lake due to it lack of  reputation for huge bass, so if you want more peace and quiet, go there.

No skiers due to low speed limits. And also has good trout fishing in winter and spring.  Add bass, bluegill ,  and crappie its a good lake.   For bass its best when the when the water warms up to 60 plus degrees, , causing the the bass move up to the shallows.
